On this beautiful “Wed”nesday, I’m inspired to talk about a bride. Not just any bride, the Bride of Christ. Who is that Bride?
We are that Bride. His church. So no matter our earthly marital status, when we are in Christ, we are His Bride and He is our Husband.
As for what our future holds, God promises us a hope and a future. There are many uncertainties in life, but of this we can be certain, Jesus Christ is coming back for His church, and we have an eternal future with Him.
Let us be ready, looking forward to the day with bated breath.
I’d like to share a poem by John Milton, may it bless you today…
…For now the voice of Thy bride calls Thee, and all creation’s sight be renewed.” It is to be hoped that this meditation has intensified your longing to see the blessed face of the Bridegroom, who, at His coming, will transform all His own into His likeness.
The Bride eyes not her garment,
But her dear Bridegroom’s face;
I will not gaze at glory,
But on my King of Grace:
Not at the crown He giveth,
But on His piercèd hand;
The Lamb is all the glory
Of Immanuel’s land. ~ John Milton
