Giggles and whispers filled the 5th-grade classroom as we girls watched that movie about becoming a woman. My mom gladly signed the permission slip because although she had told me about such things, it was nice having some backup.
Moms need great resources to share important truths with their daughters.
Fast forward and here I am with two beautiful granddaughters turning 13. What a blessing to spend time with them, but we moms and grandmas can’t be with our girls every minute, right?
Our God’s girls need guidance to equip them in navigating today’s world. Every day they’re bombarded with images of how they should look, act, and dress.
Those worldly messages are confusing and often conflict with what God says about His girls and what He wants them to know.
What if moms had a resource to help them have meaningful and purposeful conversations with their daughters? What if grandmas had help connecting and engaging in encouraging spiritual conversations with their granddaughters?
Now they do...
Treasured: A Six Session Experience for Moms & Tween Daughters DVD and Treasured: A Creative Experience For Moms & Tween Daughters Journal (or in my case, tween girls and their Gammy!) is a wonderful resource for young girls to learn more about the things that matter most.
Topics in this 6 session video-based experience include:
- Why Do I Matter?
- What’s Happening to My Body?
- How Do I Handle My Emotions?
- Who Are My Friends?
- What About Technology?
- How Can I know God?
The colorful and creative journal has thought-provoking activities and fun exercises relating to the weekly topics (the video sessions are on a DVD but a flash drive is also included. How cool is that?).
I was blessed to review the video sessions and journal with my two granddaughters. They loved it! Each week has five days of activities to complete in their journals.
Another sweet addition to the journals is the special devotional section at the end of each week. Girls their age contributed the devotionals affectionately called, From One Treasured Girl to Another. Love that!
I highly recommend Treasured for moms and their tweens. This fabulous resource is designed for a mom and her daughter to go through, or for a group of moms and daughters to go through together. And as I said, Grandmas will love it too!
I found a great review on The Gingham Apron, so you can check that out for more info as well!
Where do you get this awesome resource? It’s offered through the Parent Cue site: Treasured: An Six Session Experience for Moms & Tween Daughters.
Grab yours and let me know what you think!
Blessings!
Doris
