What Is True Success?
Ah success. What does that word mean anyway? Ask a hundred different people, and you'll hear a hundred different answers. But what does it mean to you? I loved English in school; it was by far my best subject; "A's", praise, and amaze. Then...
YOULead & LPL; What a Weekend!
There are experiences in life we just want to savor forever; such was the weekend of November 7th-November 9th. Actually, the experience began months before. After helping my friend Susan call and promote the Beth Moore event to area churches,...
This is True
Dressing for a friend’s party, it was time for the finishing touch; a charming heart necklace with a tiny diamond in the center to add just the right amount of sparkle. I carefully hunted through rotating hooks in my jewelry box, only to find...
True Confessions of an Almost Author
I'm a writer. I'm a blogger. I've read books on writing, taken courses on writing, am currently enrolled in COMPEL through Proverbs 31, and Jeff Goins, the talented guy who wrote: Wrecked, The In-Between, Writer's Manifesto; he says I'm a...
Finding Joy in Our Calling
Praise the Lord! On October 12th I was very humbled and privileged to speak at a women's event, Bagels & Blessings at Edgewater Alliance Church. This season's theme is JOY, and it was just that to bring God's word to a room filled with...
Dancing Out of Egypt
There was a time not long ago, when a half-my-life-long career began to slip away. I kept digging my claws into it, trying to hold on. Now I can see clearly that God had other plans for me; instead of allowing me to remain in a place where...
A Happy, Healthy "Us"
Brian and I will be celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary in August. We make date night an important part of our relationship, and try to have one at least once a week. It gives us quiet time together (depending on where we go that is!),...
Listen for the Whistle
As a young girl growing up in New Jersey, I have fond memories of playing outside with friends in my neighborhood. There was no shortage of games to play, and we didn't need a Wii to have fun;We used something called "imagination".... It's not...

What they’re saying
Love this podcast! Doris is such an amazing encourager to women! Love the stories she shares where compassion, passion, and action collide. She is such a champion of Jesus and women!!
I love how Doris inspires us all to share and live out the fierce calling God is calling us to. It’s no wonder Podcast Magazine recently featured her show, she is encouraging so many women’s hearts like mine through her show.
I’m always a fan of anything that echoes the heart of God in living out the calling He’s placed on our lives, and Doris does a FANTASTIC job of doing this in a way that is practical and leaves me feeling clear on how to lean into God all the more to be who He’s made me to be!
Doris has a way of getting to the story behind the story! She asks insightful questions that get to the heart of her guest. I enjoy the transparent conversations. You don’t hear them very often, but we do on this show! Doris is the real deal!
Doris has such a heart to help women understand their call and walk in it with joy. She helps women understand how their passion, compassion, and convictions intersect. So profound!! Her comforting and kind presence makes this show a delight to listen to. I’m ALWAYS encouraged by it.
