Erica Wiggenhorn: Finding Freedom from Self-Doubt & Imposter Syndrome

Have you ever felt like an imposter? Self-doubt is common among women and Imposter Syndrome is a thing. It’s a debilitating, exaggerated sense of doubt that can keep us from walking with joy in the plans God has for us.

When it hits it keeps us stuck but we don’t have to stay stuck.

So if you’ve ever been worried that people will find out who you really are and how you don’t actually have what it takes to do what you’re probably already actually doing, this episode is for you.

And what about that striving, striving, striving game that keeps us running in circles and thoroughly exhausted?

My guest today is author, speaker, and Bible teacher Erica Wiggnehorn. We’re talking about this and more and stay tuned to learn how you can grab a free copy of Erica’s new book Letting God Be Enough: Why Striving Keeps You Stuck and How Surrender Sets You Free, just released by Moody Publishers.

But before we talk more about today’s amazing show I have an important announcement…

Operation Christmas Child has been reaching millions of children each year with the good news of Jesus Christ, through shoebox gifts. Even in the hardest to reach places of the world, churches are being planted and communities are transformed.  You can pack a shoebox this year and reach a child with the good news of Jesus! National Collection Week is November 15. To learn more visit samaritanspurse.org/occ

So back to that self-doubt Imposter Syndrome thing…

Erica shares how she experienced Imposter Syndrome before she even knew it was a thing, and she knew if she struggled with this lie, then other women probably did too.

I know what she has to share will encourage, inspire, and challenge you, so listen in while I have a chat with Erica Wiggenhorn.

A Favorite Quote from the show…

“As I dove into Moses, I really began to take a good hard look at how God dealt with Moses and his fear of inadequacy–and our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever so how He dealt with Moses and the truth that He gave Moses, and the promises He gave Moses are the same truth and the same promises that He offers to us if we will embrace them. “

“I don’t call it confidence I call it Godfidence.”

I have always struggled with an exaggerated sense of self doubt and never realized there was such a thing as Imposter Syndrome. I loved how she talked about how Moses felt inadequate and how even we today can be used by God

When Erica was speaking of all her imposter syndrome thoughts, it was like she grabbed the words right out of my head. My main takeaway was “when” and a calling being irrevocable, not an “if”. Thanks so much!

Thank you for listening and for sharing your takeaways, Mary! So glad the episode blessed you. Amen, our calling is not an if it’s a when. May God bless you as you walk in your fierce calling, friend!

Erica Wiggenhorn thank you for all of your encouraging thoughts, Biblical teaching and insights, and stories of how we can be “Godfident” in who we are in Christ. We all need to be reminded of these truths. Your interview with Walking Deeper with Doris Swift, host of the Fierce Calling Podcast was very helpful to me! 💜
